Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park Management Board (VSIP MB) and Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park J.V., Co., Ltd. (VSIP) jointly launched the 6th successive VSIP Together charity event today in Binh Duong Province.
The charity day is open to VSIP’s business associates, tenant customers and their workers. Fundraising activities include a fun fair, sporting events, concert and gala dinner.
In the past, proceeds from this joint fundraising effort by VSIP and its tenants have provided scholarships and sponsored building projects in districts of Binh Duong Province. In all, the VSIP Together Community Project has raised about US$150,000 over the past five years.
The highlight of this year’s charity day is the re-opening of Tan Binh Primary School in Tan Uyen District.
The VSIP Together Community Project had joined hands with two VSIP tenants, Thermtrol (USA) and Serrano (Singapore), to sponsor the reconstruction of two buildings, a courtyard, a new library and new furniture. Renovation costs amounted to US$200,000.
To commemorate the re-opening of Tan Binh Primary School, twenty-five students are also given scholarships. In addition, VSIP’s Singapore shareholder, Sembcorp Industrial Parks, sponsored crash helmets to the school’s entire student population.
This year’s fundraising target is US$45,000. VSIP intends to continuously undertake community projects in Binh Duong Province and is heartened by the demonstration of community spirit by VSIP tenants, their workers and all business partners.
